Motor Trail Day Seven

Karumba (not so) Rest Day.

An early start at the local Primary School before most of the 'trailers' headed out on a crocodile cruise.

This was going to be a bit much for the little members of Team P7, so we went out to the ramp, waved goodbye to the rest of the group and settled in for a spot of fishing. Needless to say, our perfect record of not getting a bite in Karumba ... Oh well, we tried (again).

We then headed back to the apartments to get a few chores done; the little grocery store (shed) was quite a surprise and had us restocked in no time.

Around 11 o'clock we loaded back into the Patrol and made our way back to Normanton for lunch and an afternoon ride on the Gulflander. The girls thought that this was great; Kira only saw about twenty minutes before the rocking put her to sleep, and Kayla eventually succumbed about 5 minutes before the end of the trip. By my estimate, nearly half of the 'trailers' had at least a little nap on the train.

Dinner that evening was to be at the Karumba Golf Club, so we headed back to the unit for a feed of Kayla's special sausages, and the girls had an early night.

Tracy and I packed the car, and had some excellent fish and chips from the little cafe next door. Tomorrow was to be a 5.30 start ...

Daily Stats

150kms today.

Gulflander really is as bumpy as they say.

Girls had a video call with Nan and Pa while on the train (and everyone in the carriage said hello).
